Prohibited Use Policy

ApprovalWhisper is a product authentication service. The following categories of content and behavior are strictly prohibited. Violations result in immediate account termination and, where legally required, reporting to law enforcement.

Categorically Prohibited (automatic reporting)

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)— automatically detected and reported to NCMEC CyberTipline per 18 USC § 2258A.
• Non-consensual intimate imagery(revenge porn, deepfake NCII) — reported to applicable authorities under state and federal law.
• Content depicting imminent threats of violenceor planned attacks — reported to federal law enforcement.
• Human trafficking materials— reported per 22 USC Ch. 78.

Prohibited (account termination)

• Malware, viruses, or files designed to exploit vulnerabilities
• Content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other IP rights
• Credentials, API keys, or other private secrets
• Personal identity documents (passports, driver's licenses, SSN cards) of third parties without consent
• Content used to facilitate fraud, counterfeiting, or identity theft
• Hate speech, threats, or harassment targeted at individuals
• Illicit drugs, controlled substances, weapons, or items illegal in your jurisdiction

How we enforce this policy

Every upload is scanned by our automated content safety system. Scans include:

• Client-side pre-flight (magic byte validation, embedded executable detection)
• Server-side cryptographic hash matching against known-bad content manifests
• Perceptual hash comparison for visually similar variants
• Metadata anomaly detection (hidden payloads, script injection)
• Human expert review for ambiguous cases

Evidence preservation

Content flagged under any categorically prohibited class is preserved for a minimum of 90 days per 18 USC § 2258A(h) and handed over to law enforcement upon legal process. We do not notify users of reports that have been filed, as doing so may obstruct investigations.
